The façades, volumes, colours and materials have been designed to offer an elegant and refined architecture. The variation of a monochrome from warm white to brown ochres is animated by the balconies and shines of the metal railings, which are subtly perforated so that they can be seen without being seen from the apartments. The whole is enhanced by a hint of red that recalls the terracotta elements present in the surroundings.
The bio-climatic approach, which favours the correct orientation of the dwellings, opens up unobstructed views and guarantees good sunshine, is accompanied by a technical design of the façades that contributes to the overall energy saving (solar gains, thermal insulation).
The path that leads from the street to the buildings, from the city to the intimate, offers a vegetal animation. The trees and shrubs of the hedges and gardens along the route punctuate the seasons with their foliage, flowers and scents. A charm, a rural maple and an ornamental pear tree whose white blossoms explode in spring, strategically placed, punctuate the site with their silhouette. Smaller trees, such as Saskatoon berries and white alisiers, are distributed in the plots.
A play of colouring of flowers, foliage and branches creates a variety of atmospheres: the white prayer of the viornes and spirees is enriched with reddish-pink nuances thanks to the abelias, flowering shrubs from which the name of the residence is inspired. A vegetable garden is dedicated to residents who wish to cultivate vegetables, flowers and aromatic plants.
Located in a quiet area set back from the street, the 3-storey building has 2- to 5-room apartments opening onto a private outdoor space. The location of the buildings and the geometry of the buildings promote the privacy of the dwellings, limit the views, free up views open to light and optimise the sunshine in the gardens.
Particular care has been taken to ensure the privacy of the residents: the apartments all have an entrance, a real acoustic and visual airlock, as well as landing doors that are far apart from each other to feel in a cocoon of tranquility. The apartments are large in size and offer a wide variety of organization. Nearly half of the homes have a double exposure to capitalize on a beautiful natural light.
